Conflict management
Constructive control and settlement of conflict
It is common sense that personal opinions and perspectives need not necessarily coincide with those of our neighbors. Quite contrary, they more often stand at cross-purposes. This applies private life as well as to business.
Different experiences make us judge circumstances differently; our goals may not be shared by or not be achievable for our peers, for what reason ever. All this involves a large potential for conflict. Even within ourselves, we often experience antagonistic goals, desires and wishes. These reasons, and many more to be mentioned, suggest that life without conflict is simply utopian.
But, what prevents us from recognizing and acknowledging conflict? Basically, it is just our own awe from disaccord. However, unresolved and suppressed disagreement is likely to live on as an undetected trouble spot, breaking out when it’s least expected. Such outbreaks will negatively impact the working climate at the expense of productivity and efficiency of our work.
